I used to think crystals were bullsh*t. I really did, even after I had attended shaman school. I really don’t “believe” in something unless I’ve personally experienced the phenomenon, which I'm realizing is a rare attribute in my industry. That said, one day I picked up a crystal and felt an immediate “zing” of energy through my system, as though I had stuck my finger in a painless, energy-giving electrical outlet. It was a revelation, and I instantly dove head first into learning everything I could about crystals.
I purchased a copy of the most hilariously titled and illustrated book ever: Love is in the Earth: a Kaleidoscope of Crystals written by a woman whose name is simply “Melody”, spelled with music notes. Not letters. Yep. I had made a turn somewhere and found myself squarely in Hippy Town, but you gotta go where the information is…so I did. I read that crystal encyclopedia roughly five times, backwards and forwards through the alphabet, inserting color-coded post-its with notes to assist me in remembering the stones that may be of the most value for myself and my clients.
I still have this copy of Love is in the Earth. I still use it when a crystal or mineral pops up in an energy session and I don’t immediately recall its uses. And I now have a deep, often pedantic but occasionally useful knowledge of helpful crystals and their uses.
So, what is it about crystals that make them work? I get this question a lot- clients seem to think that crystals must be given as gifts, often on a full moon or via some other, more formal ritual. But the bottom line is this: crystals work because of the mineral, chemical and electromagnetic properties they hold within their structure. In other words, they work because they work, and there’s no need to wait to be gifted one in a magical field in the country;)
And science is catching up to the awesomeness of crystals. After all, much of the materials used in computer science are….drumroll please….made of quartz crystal! A scientist has even made a quantum computer using lose quartz crystals- check out this awesome article about this experiment here: https://www.cnet.com/news/quartz-crystal-computer-rocks/
Anthropologists, archeologists and scientists have long believed that the clear crystal skulls found in ancient Mayan and Aztec sites are essentially very advanced computers, storing tremendous amounts of information: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/archaeology/crystal-skulls/
So what does this mean for you? Well, first, it means that very educated, skeptical scientists use crystals for information storage and transmission…and other scientists believe that ancient peoples knew this and used crystals for this advanced computing purpose. So, considering all of this, it could reasonably be assumed that crystals are capable of performing this same task with our human biocomputer, a concept first established by John C. Lilly, an American physician, neuroscientist, psychoanalyst, psychonaut, philosopher, writer and inventor.
The human biocomputer concept is essentially this: that our bodies are complex biological computers with equally- if not more so- complex “software” that informs our thinking, behavior, and decision-making. He asserted that we could re-write our own cognitive programming, change epigenetic trauma into positive emotions and even increase the capacity of our biological “hard drives”. You can check out more on the human biocomputer concept here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_biocomputer
So, computers, crystals and humans could all be considered ancient and yet advanced technology. This isn’t hippy dippy, airy fairy stuff. This is the fulcrum point of science and sorcery or, as one of Clark’s Three Laws states: “Any sufficiently arcane magic is indistinguishable from technology."
Want to learn more about this incredible spiritual technology? Join us for our upcoming “Working with Crystals” workshop- we’ll be deep diving on all of this and much more, focusing on specific crystal types and uses to improve one’s quality of life.
Learn more and register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/116349415233
Please note: to keep classes small and safe, I will be shutting off registration after we get the maximum number of attendees registered online. If you’re interested in this workshop, please register to secure your spot. Side note: I will be handing out crystals as a takeaway from this workshop, so if you’ve been waiting for a witch or similar to gift you a crystal, now’s your moment!
And remember: a big, full moon is coming up this week- if you have crystals that have been working overtime, "cleanse" them in some water in a windowsill overnight and let the full moon do its disinfecting, magical thing!
And, as always, please reach out anytime with questions or to schedule a remote or in-person session: firstname.lastname@example.org
