Shamanic Journeying drumming music guided meditation
Personal Garden Meditation
This meditation is designed to work with Shamanic Journeying drumming music, but by all means tailor it to your own needs—listen to whatever helps you feel uplifted, safe, and secure. I find that music without words is easiest to manage in a meditative state. You can do this meditation lying down on a yoga mat, energy worktable, or bed, or you could even do this meditation in a salt bath or out in the sunlight in a backyard and/or garden. Start by picturing yourself in a clearing in the woods. It’s sunny and you can feel the warmth of the sun on your face and hands. It’s the kind of temperature in which you could be outside forever and not feel hot, cold, or uncomfortable. Somewhere around this clearing is the entrance to your garden. Take mental notes about the entrance to your garden: Is there a gate? A trellis? A pathway? Is your garden tall (with large prairie plants) or short (with smaller planters containing herbs)? Is it organized or wild? Enter your garden. Take your time in your garden, walking around and assessing the condition of various areas or plants. Do not judge anything that’s struggling, whether it’s a dry area that needs water or a plant that doesn’t seem to be thriving. None of this is your doing. No one’s garden is perfect. But do take detailed mental notes about any areas that are thriving or struggling. The sym- bolic language of your subconscious mind and energy body understands how to communicate with you metaphorically and literally. When you come out of the meditation, immediately journal these details, focusing on the plants that are thriving or not doing so well. Some of my clients will note that a particular plant has taken over the garden, suggesting that this plant represents an area of imbalance. One example is mint, which is associated with work, abundance, and staying busy, which could suggest that you are working too much and not giving enough time or attention to your personal life. Another example could be that rose bushes seem dead or struggling, and this could indicate that you need to care for your heart chakra and give your personal—particularly romantic— relationships a place of priority in your life. You can then cross-reference what comes through with various chakras or even flower and tree essences that you can use to “help” the struggling areas or support the thriving areas. For instance, rose flower essence is excellent if you notice roses struggling in your garden. You may have also encountered spirit guides in your garden—this is an important clue as to who is looking out for your energy body. Most encounter ancestors who, by the very nature of your genetic connection, are of course concerned with your wellbeing.
